JANUARY EXAMS  -  BAD WEATHER PROCEDURE

DMHS will endeavour to run all scheduled public exams under the following arrangement:

Should bad weather force the school to close on the day of an official exam (NOT MOCK EXAMS), Ryston College will be opened and used as the centre to sit all external exams timetabled for that day.  This will include exams for years 10, 11, 12 and 13.  EXCEPTION:  On the following dates, year 10 or year 11 students should attend the Bexwell site:  Thursday 12 January, Wednesday 25 January, Thursday 26 January.  All students who are able to travel should attend to sit their exams and arrive 20 minutes before the timetabled start time - as indicated on their individual timetables already issued.

Please note that any mock exams will be postponed until school re-opens.

UNCLAIMED EXAM CERTIFICATES

 Did you attend Downham Market High School or College during the period 2006 to 2010 and NOT collect your examination certificates?

 If so, the school is keen that these are collected as soon as possible. 

 All prior students are therefore invited to either:

 Call the Exam Office on 01366 389124  or  01366 389103 to arrange personal collection.

 OR

 Provide written and signed authorisation for someone else to collect the certificates on their behalf.

 Please note that the school is only obliged to keep certificates for one year and any unclaimed certificates may, in due course, be destroyed.

 

2011 / 2012  EXAMINATION CALENDAR

 January GCE/GCSE Exams:         Tuesday 10 January – Thursday 2 February

  Summer GCE/GCSE Exams:         Monday 14 May – Wednesday 27 June

  Oral and practical exams will be held on selective dates prior to the main exams

 Students must refer to their own INDIVIDUAL EXAM TIMETABLE for confirmation of entries to exams.

   If a student is unable to attend an exam due to illness, they MUST contact the exams office to explain their absence as soon as possible on the morning of the exam.

 

HOLIDAYS WILL NOT BE AUTHORISED BY THE SCHOOL DURING EXAMINATION PERIODS - INCLUDING DATES FOR ORALS AND PRACTICAL EXAMS.

 2011 / 2012 RESULTS DATES

 GCE                Thursday 16 August   -   9 am

 GCSE              Thursday 23 August    -   10 am - Noon  for Year 11

                                                              11 am  - Noon  for Year 10

If a student is unable to collect their examination results on the above dates, they can be collected from the exams office during school hours.

 CERTIFICATES

Certificates can be collected either at the Awards Evenings held at Bexwell (GCSE) or Ryston (GCE), or at a later date from the Exams Office. 

Note:  Signed authorisation from the student must be given if someone else is to collected the certificates on their behalf.
